Meet the Team

Megan Brown – TSB Showplace Coordinator 

Megan was born and bred in the south-west of England. After coming over to visit her Sister (and loving it!) she made the big move to New Zealand in 2010, joining the team in 2011.

Megan has a background in fundraising and events in the not for profit health sector.

She loves the Kiwi lifestyle and can often be found enjoying the great outdoors, usually on her bike.


Penny Burmester  - Business Development Officer

Originally from the UK, Penny has called New Plymouth home for the past 20 years and is one of the more experienced members of the TSB Showplace team.

Penny has a varied background in customer service and hospitality roles. She was originally part of the NPDC venues team and has been juggling multiple events and clients at the TSB Showplace since 2006.

Most of her spare time is spent doing a role she loves - being a Mum!  but also she can often be seen power walking along the coastal walkway and stopping off at nearby cafes for the ‘Penny Special’ (1/4 shot, trim, cappuccino).


David Liggett – TSB Showplace Operations

David has an extensive background in retail management and over the years he has been seen on both sides of the venue, showing his talent as a performer on stage and also showing his experience in coordinating the operations of our events at the TSB Showplace - among everything else!

Having been with the team since 2006, David’s knowledge of the venue is second to none and he is known for his organisational skills, detailed lists, passion and creativity.

A family man, when he’s not at work he’s out on his new lifestyle block tending to the chooks, landscaping and riding around on his brand new ride-on lawnmower


Sharina Parsottam – Marketing & Events

Sharina joined the team in 2016. She most recently came from the Taranaki Arts Festival Trust where she was the marketing coordinator at Taranaki Arts Festival Trust. This saw her marketing a number of festivals including WOMAD, Tropfest New Zealand and the Taranaki International Arts Festival.

She enjoys supporting our clients with all things marketing, and takes pleasure in the variety of responsibilities that this involves. Feel free to quiz her on ideas for marketing your event!

Sharina appreciates live music, festivals and the arts. She can also be found jogging along the foreshore, relaxing by the ocean or enjoying a refreshing cider.


Fraser Ross – Operations Assistant

Fraser recently moved back to New Plymouth after spending the last 12 years working in Film and TV in Auckland and overseas.

Fraser joined the team in 2014 and enjoys a challenge and going the extra mile for our clients.

He is a self confessed football nut and enjoys a good coffee or 12.
