MR MCGEE & THE BITING FLEA

10 Jun 2019

Six whimsical stories by award-winning children's writer, Pamela Allen. Emerging from dozens of suitcases and crates as three curious warehouse workers transform a storeroom into enchanting little miracles of music and play.

As huge packing cases are opened, new worlds emerge, filled with quirky characters and stories. Using an assortment of props and found objects, the three performers bring the tales to sweet, music-infused life.  This wonderful production features adaptations of Pamela Allen’s stories 'Mr McGee', 'Alexander’s Outing', 'Belinda', 'Brown Bread and Honey', 'Mary Elizabeth’s House' and 'Mr McGee and the Biting Flea'.

"Using an assortment of props - mops, ladders, an air pump, steamer trunks, balloons, the three performers bring Pamela Allen's stories to sweet, music-infused life. In the process, they make "Mr. McGee and the Biting Flea" a simple, elegant valentine to theatrical imagination. It is rare to see a show that leaves an avid theatre-goer wanting more. Mr. McGee" does." - Review - Minneapolis Star Tribune
